Blendtec Commercial Refurbished Blender

ICB3 in Black for only $175 shipped. [vminnovations.com]

Use code: ICB175

I bought one a year back and it's amazing. The biggest knock is they are used. They call them refurbed, and that counts for the motor/board/etc but not the pitcher or sound shield. My sound shield arrived crackled and crazed, the pitcher was also scuffed from use. With that said, I'm almost tempted to buy a second one just for a backup. I'm pretty sure this thing will smash atoms if given the chance.

These have been selling on Ebay as refurbs by the same seller (VM Innovations) for some time now. I purchased two about a year ago for use in my busy cafe and both worked extremely well and arrived in good condition. At the price I paid (also $175ish), it was well worth it. And yes, the WildSide jar does fit. Also to confirm, these were used previously at Starbucks locations. They were designed to take a licking and keep on ticking.

Great price for a great blender. Thumbs up.

hmmm i looked at their home applicianes and i didnt see any option near "blenders" have you used them before for your blender?
Squaretrade won't cover used or refurbished items, only way is if the seller also sells squaretrade warranties like amazon or if you buy the item on eBay.

Thinking of getting one, we keep buying blenders and they always break, it is used a lot on our houseold, might be worth it to get this. How long is the promo code active?

I fail to see how it would be any worse than drinking a blended drink from any commercial establishment or eating at a restaurant with a fork that has been in hundreds of other mouths.

Make sure to read the reviews over at Amazon.

I got mine at the same price as this deal. Other than the yucky stains at the bottom of my jar and an unusually loud and whiny motor (I've heard the total blender and it doesn't sound half as bad), I have no problems with mine. I did end up buying another BPA free new jar, they run about $65 bringing the total to $240. If I was doing this again I would skip this deal and use a 20% coupon from bed bath and beyond to buy a new blendtec total blender for $320. $80 more for the added peace of mind of a 7 year manufacturer warranty (versus 1 year SELLER warranty) is totally worth it IMO.

I really doubt they do anything to the motor/board other than testing if the blender runs and removing any 'year of manufacture' stickers. Several buyers have reported that they contacted Blendtec and were told that Blendtec has nothing do with refurbishing these.

Aren't these pre-programmed with Starbucks settings instead of the normal controls?

You can reprogram all 6 buttons to your liking (4 visible buttons and 2 ghost buttons in between).

There are programmed buttons, but you can reprogram easily. There are also 2 pulse buttons. You can actually program the speed on those as well.

Not clear from product description?. If it doesnt, then as the other poster said, you would have to take the ~60 jar price into account ?

It comes with the standard jar. A lot of people buy the newer "wildside" jars.

True enough. But this seller has these sitting in a warehouse somewhere for years together with organic material in the nooks and crannies. At the very least, you would want to run it through several hot cycles in the dishwasher.

Previous posters in this thread mentioned this being a $750+ commercial unit. Is that true? If so should we assume this is a better deal than your Bed Bath and Beyond $320 unit?

Serious question...
