Blendtec Commercial Refurbished Blender

ICB3 in Black for only $175 shipped. [vminnovations.com]

Use code: ICB175

I bought one a year back and it's amazing. The biggest knock is they are used. They call them refurbed, and that counts for the motor/board/etc but not the pitcher or sound shield. My sound shield arrived crackled and crazed, the pitcher was also scuffed from use. With that said, I'm almost tempted to buy a second one just for a backup. I'm pretty sure this thing will smash atoms if given the chance.

Previous posters in this thread mentioned this being a $750+ commercial unit. Is that true? If so should we assume this is a better deal than your Bed Bath and Beyond $320 unit?

Serious question...
The motors are the same. I don't have links handy to prove it, but this is what came out of the research I did back when I bought it. Blendtec has used the same 1560W, 13A direct drive motor on all their residential and base-commercial blenders for several years now.

What commercial establishments pay extra for are a commercial quality motor enclosure and heavy removable bulletproof base, sound shroud, jar with metal bearing instead of polycarbonate and a commercial warranty. The blender you get from this deal could be well over 10 years old. I would rather pay $80 more for a new motor.

The closest current model is the 13 amp listed on this page.

The lids are horrible. Is there any place that sells the lids for these ICB3 blenders?

It comes with the standard jar. A lot of people buy the newer "wildside" jars.
I've got an extra unopened wildside jar. If anyone is interested you can pm me.

I just ordered one of these from this same company (vmi) and the blender I got was trashed. The jar and the case/cover part were both cracked and clearly had been used and abused. I am sending it back hoping for a better one. I'm guessing it's just the luck of the draw.

Squaretrade won't cover used or refurbished items, only way is if the seller also sells squaretrade warranties like amazon or if you buy the item on eBay.

Thinking of getting one, we keep buying blenders and they always break, it is used a lot on our houseold, might be worth it to get this. How long is the promo code active?
yah im in your same boat......

Yeah I bought it used from ebay. I got the blender in good condition only the lid is so loose that it spills around. The seller refuses to send me another lid without me sending the lid back first. There is no guarantee for the second lid be leak proof since the commercial blender allow air to escape. cheaper to buy from blendtec for 13.95 shipped. Its very easy to reprogram. The only gripe is that the 1 and 2 cannot be programmed as up down key

We have 3 of the blendtec blenders. We just bought another one of the built-in countertop mounted models. My wife uses them daily.

If anyone needs a Blendtec total blender ($399 at costco), we have an extra unused one with a lifetime warranty. Shoot me a note and we'll make a sweet deal.

You probably already know this, but code 4P allows you to choose the speed by holding down the button while the speed keeps climbing until you release it.

What I would like is the ability to up speed by one notch everytime i press the key, alike blendtec total blender. I tried using 4p of smoothies and the smoothies lacked the texture.

Yes, I got that. 4P is 'custom speed', so its the closest thing to what you want. The texture of the smoothie would really depend on the speed you select while using a 4P-programmed button.
