You can try using the copy in the WIki (note that it's currently expired so they may or may not honor it) or wait for yours to come in by mail. HD will honor the coupon and make a price adjustment when you pay. |

Do I need this or an impact drill? I am looking for a go-to drill for around the house for all purposes. Wood, metal, etc. I have to drill in cement but that's only 1 little project it's not a deal break if it can't. I also need to hang my kitchen cabinets and mount things onto the studs.
Hammer or impact? |

- A hammer drill pulses (hammers) the bit slightly as it turns so that it digs in better when making holes in masonry. - A driver is for driving fasteners. The rotation works in a linear fashion. That is, it turns in a continual manner in whatever direction. - An impact driver is for driving more difficult fasteners. The rotation works in an incremental fashion as a series of beats to provide more force for fastening/loosening. You can use a drill as a driver. I'd get that first. A hammer drill like this one works the same way with the added feature of hammering if you need it. Stand-alone, non-impact drivers were more useful when most drills were big heavy deals since they tended to be much smaller and lighter. You can get a 1/4 bit adapter for a few bucks and turn the drill into basically the same thing and also have the standard chuck versus the fixed 1/4 socket on most drivers. The impact driver is more useful if you're driving long screws into tough material, fastening/loosening tougher nuts, etc. Works much faster in that case. Nice to have, but you can get by with pre-drilling (which you should be doing anyway) and using the drill as a driver. The impact driver won't work real well as a drill. Thanks OP....got the pickup confirmation. The Amazon description states 2 batteries are included just like the HD website picture of the M12 hammer drill/driver kit unlike some other Milwaukee M12 kits with 1 battery.
"Product Description" from Amazon: Includes 12V Cordless M12 3/8-in Hammer Drill Driver Kit - 2411-82, (2) 12V M12 Lithium-Ion Batteries, 30-Minute Charger, Carrying Case |

Hey guys.
Just a heads up, The home depot i go to showed zero in stock. I went in to pick up something else and they had about 8 sitting there. They were marked at $89. There is no need to order online to reduce the price and also you store might have some in stock even if it shows out of stock. |

Was this a price mistake, even though instore price was reduced as well? Online price is back up to $150 for the drill + charger+battery, while the bare tool itself is $89.99:

I noticed the same thing. The website said my local store didn't have any. I called the store and they had 2 on the shelf. So went over and grabbed one. |

I would say that this is a great price for this M12 Hammer drill. I've used many cordless drills in the commercial construction industry and this little thing comes in handy. Yes my dewalt 18volt hammer drill has a faster drilling speed than this one but this M12 still gets the job done. I like its light weight design and small size compared to my dewalt for getting into tight spaces. This M12 Hammer drill is still kicking after drilling over 1,000 1/4" anchor holes in block/brick (about 1 1/2 inch deep). After drilling the hole and setting the anchor, I change over to a screw bit to screw in the #10 screw. Like I said, the drill is still holding up, batteries hold a good charge (can drill about 50 holes in block before needing a charge) and it is right at a year old. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a 12volt hammer drill for small hole sizes being drilled into block/brick.
