There were PS2, PS3, Wii, 3DS DSi, PS3(New) a bunch of xboxes, different wii(s).. almost every single console out there.

I'm in the market to buy a Nintendo 3DS, and cowboom has the cheapest price.

But all of the ones listed here are "pre-owned" (used):

Missing parts? I can live without a box or manual, but what if it is a critical part? Then one is only buying trash.

I managed to get one last week thru auction @$109.00. That was the sweetest deal i ever got.
Recieved it on monday, & enjoying ac3 since then.

i am looking for some info on game consols

i must admit, i am quite "out of the loop" since i had my atari circa ~1980
(i remember enjoying the heck out of games like donkey kong, asterods, pac man , etc)

i am sure things have changed since then

in any event, i am looking for a consol for my now 8 year old boy and would love to get some reccomendations from you experts

i am quite confused with wii, wii u, vita, slim, fat, RROD , xbox and ps3 etc

any info suggestions would be cool

Sorry, I meant the newer slimmer version of PS3. Not a brand new PS3.

You could write a novel to answer all of those questions.

Short answer...if you want cheapest console and games and more family friendly but lower end graphics, go with Wii.

If you want middle of the road price and don't care about blu-ray player as part of the system, and best overall games and experience, go with Xbox 360.

If you want best overall hardware and the ability to play blu-ray movies, get the PS3.

I won't go into handhelds.

Surprised Xbox 360 prices are still so high. I got a 360 two years ago from Target with two games for $90 new. That was the tail end of the "arcade' version. Microsoft came out with that "slim" model around that time - probably to help keep the price inflated.
