Glad this deal came along! Our prevention course credit is expiring on 4/25 so Liberty Mutual told me I have to complete it before then, otherwise that discount drops.
https://harmonia.dmv.state.ny.us/pirp/#ipirp They also sent me this link that shows eligible courses in NY and confirmed AARP online was on there and that my husband and I could take it even though we are not 55+. Not sure how accurate it is, but on my Liberty Mutual account it says that the course has saved us $939 (not sure if that is per year or overall). Thanks OP! I will do today what others won't so I can live tomorrow like others can't. |

I've been taking these courses every three years in-person for decades, and truly enjoy them. The instructors are usually retired police officers/troopers and always have personal experiences to share. And you can ask them tons of questions, like confirming if they have ticket quotas. I think taking it in person is the way to go, but if you want to save a few bucks on the course and suffer through it, give on-line a try. I'm not due for another two years, so I'll skip this but will recommend it to others. It's the other people on the road that I have to worry about.

I just completed my course now. Although it is designed for older drivers, it is useful for all. you will get discount (for me $20/6 months in NJ - Ameriprise) from insurance companies and valid for 3 years. Total 8 units and each having an unit test then a final exam at end of Unit 8. they are simple. Unit 7 & 8 are of small duration. Rest of the units are average duration of 1 hour. I believe everyone can pass the exam.

Don't worry about the quiz...it just a test of your common senses, except the traffic signs & lane. Good luck... Here the FAR deals I got:
