Thanks for posting! I already placed a pre-order for my girlfriend's Nexus 4.

This may possibly be the best looking case that offers decent protection for the Google LG Nexus 4 phone. If you don't care as much for looks and worry more about protection, you can check out the thread I created for the Ballistic Shell Gel case here.

That may work when the company is selling it directly (likely on February 15, 2013). However, the item is only available for pre-orders through Amazon, so you cannot use the code at the official site. The free shipping code may still work on February 15, for those who do not mind waiting. Do note that the special price of $13.99 may increase to the retail price of $24.99 though.

I'll update the OP to mention that pre-orders are only accepted on the Amazon listing.

I was all about this case when I first checked it out, but I think I'm going to stick with the Ringke slim case. I'll watch the reviews on this one; if the protection is *significantly* better I might be willing to jump over. Then again, I left the back plastic on under the slim case, so using this case would mean removing the plastic...

You know what I really want? A manufacturer to create a design that allows the back of the device (essentially everything but the touchscreen) to be easily switched out (a couple of screws or something). That way you could pop on a bombproof, slim, or sexy glass back on the device and have it optimized for that device. Would be a huge money maker for the manufacturer to sell just the device without a back (or with a simple plastic one), and offer the backs as add-ons. Actually, I might need to find a patent attorney...

It's a hyrbrid. It looks to have a TPU-like material wrapping around the edges, and a clear, hard plastic for the back.

Manufacturers are probably not inclined to do this because the general population may mess up the phone and this could result in warranty issues, along with people thinking poorly of a manufacturer because of a bad experience.

Of course, this is just my opinion. Don't let my negativity stop you from making thousands of dollars with a patent!
