I got that last year and had to return it back. The quality is very poor. It was very difficult to tune. I also noticed that they don't hold. I ended up tuning it everyday.

Are these more like toys or can someone actually use the Guitar as a starter guitar?
They are like toys.

A toy is not a good starter guitar unless you are talking about starter for a toddler. If you have any desire to learn how to play, you'd be much better off buying someone else's real guitar off craigslist.

These are toys. The only thing missing is Woody and Buzz embossed on the top.

If you want to learn guitar you generally don't want a starter that will be out of tune before the song ends.

If you don't know enough to make an educated purchase:
  • Ask friends who play if they know a music store they trust.
  • Go to aforementioned music store/guitar shop and talk to the inevitable guy with goatee behind the counter.
  • Tell them you are looking for a good starter and give them your budget.
  • Find something you like and that likes you.
  • Play like no-ones listening.

Beware of craigslist and pawn shop guitars if you don't know what you're doing.

If you intend to really play guitar, you're likely going to be frustrated trying to play something like this and end up spending more money for a decent guitar. In this case, you get what you pay for.

Supposedly the keyboard kit comes with Cakewalk Music Creator as well. I'm not really a musician I'm just an amateur. Isn't the software alone worth like 30 bucks?

Can't wait for my keyboard to ship

Only thing that guitar is good for is smashing over someones head. For 20 bucks it's not a bad deal, just make sure you record the video it and post it on youtube.

This just in......even the folks who make it won't buy it. Sewpah, Dewpah, cheep! Constantly tuning is a real killjoy, get something else.
