well it's a bit tricky in that case. When your skills increase, you'll likely want something better (like the bench dog table people have been mentioning) OR you may just end up making your own to suit your needs fully.

track saw setups aren't much more than a halfway decent table saw. Check out eurekazone.com (tracksawforum.com is their discussion area). Way more versitile than festool, and way more affordable. Although you'd be hard pressed to find a festool owner willing to admit it

You'll be happier with your router table if it has a plate with reducing rings and the ability to attach a standard guide bushing for pattern work.

When I've done some reading on track saws, I've come across the stuff at eurkazone as being a bargain. My table saws have always been moderate to higher end portable units, so still WAY cheaper than a track saw. Maybe one day I'll move up to one though.

My compact makita table saw is outside in the yard covered in plastic waiting to be sold on craigslist, while my real woodworking tools are in the house and actually being used.

sorry if i offended you to a point where you feel the need to make such stupid assumptions, but there's really nothing you can do with a table saw that can't be done more accurate, safer, and cleaner, and faster with a track saw.

good luck trying to rip a 8'x4' sheet of mdf without having a table saw and outfeed table large enough to take up half the workshop. while you're struggling to keep that 100+lb sheet of wood against the fence and worrying about burn marks, i've already moved on to my crosscuts.

There are many jigs for table saw, I wonder how that work for your track saw
