That is IF they'll install a battery. They told me a few weeks ago in Taylors that you have to have bought the watch at Walmart before they'll switch out the battery.

Amateur question but can you make a new hole in a leather band with any of these tools?
You can use the little hammer with a screwdriver to puncture a hole, but it won't be so smooth like you do it with a hole punch.

This kit is super cheap, but it does the trick for the most simple jobs. Im gonna get another since ive lost or broken a few of the pieces on my last kit. Easily worth while at 5 bucks a pop.

For batteries, you can get them cheap as dirt from ebay. Only problem is that they come over on teh slow boat from china, but you can usually get a 10 pack for a buck or so. Just find out what batteries your watch takes and buy a few sleeves of all the usual suspects.

Riteaid, CVS, walgreens are a few I know. Also some will replace the battery 4 u too.

Walgreens has a few...but mainly hearing aide batts. Locally, the only chain that will carry a wide selection is RadioShack but you'll pay $5 each for them. WalMart and Target carry a very limited selection of sizes. If you have a standard cheap watch with Japanese movement, WalMartington probably has the size 626 that you need.

I have 2 - one is a back up for when I broke one of the pin tools when I was removing links from 2 watches. Works like a charm though, and for $5, I'll get a back up for the back up!

I had a set of watches, I could not use - either dead battery, long watchband. Glad to find this kit.

The charge is for the work involved in geting the back off and on without completely scratching it or shattering the glass.

Getting the back on again is incredibly difficult. It seems easy until you try it.
The screw-ons are easy to get back on... the pop offs are a bit harder. I shattered the crystal on my watch trying to get the back back on after installing a new battery. Good thing it was only a ESQ. Stick Out Tongue

I have this kit that I bought on sale a couple of years ago. This is a great kit and has worked great to change the strap length of my watch. I have changed the watch battery once. The negative reviews don't make sense.
