Hey guys, hope you can help me out. I'm looking for a replacement laptop (HP G72 MOBO died after only 3 years) but wanted to go down from a 17 to a 15" screen and thought of getting the i5 instead of the i3 i used to have.

I have a intel x-25 SSD drive from my old laptop (sata II) that I would probably throw in the new laptop so i don't much care what size the HD is. (yeah i know i can go faster with a newer SSD, but this intel drive is only 3 months old and the little increase isn't worth the money right now)

I've been out of the laptop shopping game for a while and was looking for something around $400. Is this the best deal out there right now?

Basically I just use it for email, web, flash game playing, MS office, some video watching, nothing hard core and no real gaming.

Is there an i3 i should be keeping my eye on?

Is lenovo the brand to buy now for dependability?

Can you extend the warranty?

What about square trade warranty?

Why do you want an i3? You can probably get a 3rd gen i5 for 400$ if you don't care about which brand. Dell, Asus, Lenovo are the one's I saw in the past that pop up for 400$'s for an i5 3rd gen brand new. It just depends how bad you need it now, if you don't need it now, you can wait for a deal that will pop up. I can't say for Lenovo or dell, but I bought a 3rd gen i5 Asus for 400$ and it has lasted me a year so far, so far so good. (knocks on wood) There's a toshiba 3rd gen i7 deal going on for 500$ if you are interested in going even better.

Thanks. I went on chat and told the rep the model and price I was looking for, she said she found one. I said I'll take it, she charges me the $422 without ever telling me the price was difference.

Lenovo says they will do a price match themselves if I get a screen of it in a cart at $361.80 but I think this should work for the CC company.

anybody receive a tracking number yet? mine was supposed to be delivered by Friday, but I haven't even received a shipment notice yet...

I haven't gotten mine yet.

My order status says "IN PRODUCTION" but the expected ship date was 2-9-2013. Lenovo kind of sucks at internet.

Update: Just received my shipment notification and tracking number.

my Lenovo screen died after short time , I paid $95 to fix it in morocco, no Lenovo help was available in n Africa, Toshiba fixed the problem.$95.00 never refunded by Lenovo... I had 2 HP pc,s window vista and xp, lasted long time with no problems,.asus is adynamic young company very good pc s.. look around.
