I'm such a damn hipster, I read Game of Thrones before there was an HBO series.

Does anyone know if B&N plans on giving the other books an exclusive deluxe edition? I'd hate to get this and not have the others match.

Yeah, I'm like that.

Are any of the other editions in this deluxe edition or is this the first (or maybe only). I cannot find any specifics on it elsewhere and would like to know if this is just a one off. Thanks!

In for 1 and repped!

Same here. I got a text message saying it was available for $7.98. I have not yet gone to pick it up, but that seems fine (even if website says $7.18). Not sure if that includes tax or not.

This looks like a good deal for the hardcover (and if special edition features appeal to you), BUT, if I just want to read the series, any reason I should get this over the 4 book paperback box set from amazon for $21 ($5.25/book)?

Initial investment and binding quality are the only real reasons that come to mind.

What's sad is that George R.R. Martin now cares more about fame then writing. "Dance with Dragons" was mediocre at best. I LOVED the first three books in the series but now I'm not even sure I care how it ends (IF it ever ends). I'm guessing the next book in the series will be released in 2025.

If you don't care about it being the deluxe hardcover, you can get the first 4 mass market paperbacks on Amazon for $21. That's over 3,000 pages of martiny goodness.

Great deal, gonna throw it in to my girlfriend as a Valentine's Day gift since we just finished watching the HBO series.

Very nice price for a high quality product.

Thanks, been waiting to read these books for years, and finally will be able to get around to them. $7.18 for me, which is phenomenal considering the binding quality.

If you're really looking for deals on books, half.com is the way to go. I usually buy the like new books (who cares if someone else has read it before you) and you can get killer deals. With shipping, you could buy a like new set of the first 4 books for $18.48 or $4.62/book.
