Your more expensive cable didn't "clean up" or provide a better picture than the cheap cable. It was just able to provide all of the information required to build the picture because it wasn't faulty. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_1...-the-same/ My point being on a 6 foot cable there is no reason to buy a cable of higher quality. You may get some that don't work, but if you do you can just buy another one. You're problems with cheap HDMI cables is really the exception, not the rule. found this info:
"HDMI 1.4 was not established for 3D capability. The HDMI 1.4 was in reference to Ethernet connectivity and ARC (audio return channel). The HDMI orginization has now gone away from the version numbers and prohibts manufactures from using version numbers for marketing purposes." ARC! |

You have had some bad experiences with cheap HDMI cables... I get that, but really it's a numbers game and you were just unlucky. Just because you've had issues doesn't mean everyone has. Like I said... I've have used nothing but budget HDMI cables with ZERO issues, EVER. They have haven't failed on me in over 5 years... Keep on buying those BlueRigger cables, when you get a faultily one will you upgrade and start buying Monster for that extra piece of mind? |

![]() There is a lone 3 star review. 129 of the 130 reviews are 4 or higher, with 128 of them being 5 stars. See attached photo. EDIT: If you went to a DIFFERENT link and COMBINE all of the 1 and 2 star reviews, they total out to be 150 of the nearly 3500 reviews. It averages 4.7 stars across the board. You're missing the forest through the trees. Again, find me a higher rated cable with a better build at this price point.
*** I just sorted the reviews by date (newest first). I had to go through nearly 10 pages of comments to find the first 1- or 2-star review. BR's customer support replied to his comment with this: "Dear Customer, We apologize for the inconvenience caused due to the defective unit. We offer a 1 year warranty on this product. Please contact us at service@bluerigger.com so that we can send you a replacement (free of cost). Thank you BlueRigger LLC service@bluerigger.com " *** I'd love to see Monoprice so actively try to provide customer support for their cheap cables. And then you have comments like this guy who bought an HDMI cable for a "zone free DVD" (? -- I assume he means "player") that he didn't need to -- so he gives the cable a bad review? *** "I bought a zone-free DVD from Amazon and in the product description it was specified this cable did not come with the product, so I bought it. To my surprise, when I opened the box and read the instructions, I found out the cable was not needed. What is more, the DVD does not even have an HDMI outlet! I find this kind of business practice not acceptable and will not be buying from this seller again. " Last edited by TheEdge; 02-07-2013 at 10:41 AM.. |
