insurance companies do cover breast pumps. You must call your insurance provider and ask for detailed steps and instructions so that it becomes an eligible claim. It is true you have to see when it starts so if you dont call and have it validated you run a chance of it not being covered. Also you most likely will require to get a note and prescription from the doctor. Sometimes they ask for the code so you might want to ask the insurance provider all these questions before visiting the doctor so that you won't have to go back and forth faxing docs over. I do have a question though. Would the bill cover the pumps only once in a lifetime or is it renewable per year, etc? Or is it once per insurance provider in lifetime, etc? Anyone have any ideas on this?
