Well, got it last time.
Honestly speaking my Panasonic 3d Blu-ray player is much better than this Roku box. This one doesn't even have YouTube or browser. Having less channels that my panny blu-ray player. Except Angry Birds which my daughters are playing its waste. I put the Netflix and my daughters immediately told me that there is something wrong with Netflix looks and feel. Then I switched them back to Panasonic one, the Netflix in Panasonic is having much options than Roku, they have dedicated for Kids box, so my daughter directly go there instead of searching through all the movies and cartoons. Overall, if you have latest blu-ray player with WiFi then there is no need for Roku, unless someone come and justify. |

I agree the Panny might be the better value and the BDT220 has gotten great reviews for it's WiFi streaming and user interface. In regards to the Roku, you can get around the missing YouTube app by using Twonky (see link below). It beams most website's videos to the Roku works surprising well; I get output from my Nexus 4 and iPad mini in HD to the Roku along with local device pics and vids. Yes the Roku also does not have DLNA but the Plex app is a good substitute. Finally, the app catalog is much more abundant (including private channels) on the Roku than any other streaming device. I especially like using HBO Go and VEVO. I very much agree that the Netflix app is better on the Panny vs. Roku. Netflix offers the Kids only section for the majority of devices yet it hasn't updated it on the Roku. It's perplexing as heck. I also have kids and my son likes the navigating through the Netflix app on the Sharp TV better than the Roku's! Both have their pro's/con's and that's why I have both ![]() --------------------------------------------------------------------- http://gigaom.com/2012/12/25/roku...e-airplay/ |

Thanks. Seems like the roku extra is more channels vs neotv extra is intel widi/miracast (future) and qwerty remote. |

I had a few questions about the Roku. One questions is are the free channels worth it and how do you access them? Also, if you already have a smart TV (LG) that gives you access to Neflix, youtube, etc., what other benefit does it provide you? I have just started looking at these recently and have been debating about getting one of these, but wasn't sure if it was 'worth it.' |

Coming with HDMI cable is exception to the rule (i have seen Roku bundled with HDMI cable deals). Speaking of which, recently there was a deal of 10 HDMI cables for $12 |
