I purchased one a few weeks ago as well and they sent me one without power adapter. They agree to provide $10 credit but I can't even try the thing. Finally I found a power adapter from an old router and tried to set up the Roku--the remote simply won't stay syned for more than a few seconds. I guess people who return the unit usually have a good reason. I managed to get a return label from bensoutlet and they gave me full refund in a few days. Overall the customer service is OK although they only have email response--expect 1-2 day turn around time.
One of my friends also ordered and got one with a bad HDMI port. They agreed to let her return as well.
So good luck. I feel Roku has very bad or none quality control. They don't do any test before dumping those units.
The price has been $59.99 for a while, and it seems inventory comes and goes. I purchased a few weeks ago at that price and received a unit that seemed in pretty good shape, but the remote was DOA. Ben's wouldn't send me a replacement unit either. My options were 1) return unit for full refund but at my cost for shipment or 2) accept a $10 credit. I could have taken option #2 had I at least had a means to initially connect and configure the unit so that I could use either a universal-smart remote or the app, but I couldn't get to that point.
If I was to do it all over, I would have purchased through a different company and paid a higher price.
