I take the money I have left over all those other things are paid and start a business (I do not qualify for a loan from the government you see) and then pay sales tax on the things I make and sell. THEN, I am taxed on my profit, and if I draw any income from this business, I then pay income tax on THAT amount. I then take that decreased amount of money, and try and buy more things that I like. I have access to all those same things regardless of what I do with my free time. My income and sales tax have already paid for those things you listed. But I am then further taxed for trying to better myself, and if I try and keep my prices low so that I actually sell anything, nearly all of the profit is consumed by the government. Thus I would have been just as well off had I sat at home watching "Honey Boo-Boo" with my thumb up my butt. Even THAT wouldn't be so bad, except, I work in public education, and I am forced to see day by day the inefficiency and waste that happens with the tax money that is collected. And if anyone tries to contest it and be more efficient they are squashed by the bureaucracy, politics and red tape "required" for the system to work. And that's just ONE public sector the money goes to. I know they are ALL highly inefficient and wasteful, and there's very little anyone can do about it. I'm sure the government gets PLENTY of money from a corporation as large as Amazon via income and business taxes. "Sales tax" is just another greedy grab on top. If it weren't for ALL of these things, I wouldn't have such a hard time with "taxes" being added, but when they're added to EVERYTHING and then used ineffectively, it makes me mad enough to post a single sentence snarky comment about them! TLDR; WotC makes some great games, and after playing Ravenloft, I can easily recommend this one. |
