I have a TF300 and its buttery smooth.. no lag at all for me. I did try one in best buy and I noticed that it was a bit laggy than the one I bought.. It wasnt getting a good wifi signal and I don't think it was updated to the latest firmware... |

Alicia Silverstone: "I think the film Clueless was very deep. I think it was deep in the way that it was very light. I think lightness has to come from a very deep place if it's true lightness."

I've used 2 TP's and an IPAD Gen 2.. and compared to those two I would say the TP was slower than the TF300 and the IPAD Gen 2 was pretty smooth.. but the asus is def holding it's own. I'll continue to use my tf300 and see if my experience changes at all. But for the $199 I paid for the dock and tablet (I used best buy reward certfs) I couldn't be happier. I've also watched about 12 video reviews and not one of them mention any lag input.. and these guys use wayyy more tablets than I have. |

Jelly Bean has really made it a smooth experience (at least for me) and I think it definitely holds its own against an iPad. I use it on a regular basis and the only issues I run into are when I have 80 million apps open at once and running a task killer or doing a cold boot solves that within a few minutes. Is the TF300 a perfect tab? No, it definitely has it's short-comings. A lot of them are based on the lack of tablet optimized app development. It's hard to compete with Apple when developers don't take advantage of the added screen real estate that tablets have. Having used the TF300 for almost 9 months now, here are the things I would change: 1) Gorilla Glass and more solid construction (it does creak because of the plastic) 2) Back-lit front and rear camera should be standard. 3) Should have 2 GB of RAM to give the system more overhead to deal with multiple apps open 4) Higher screen brightness and sharper resolution display Obviously, the things I mentioned would probably add to the overall cost, but it would be money well spent for a better overall product. I haven't had the chance to test drive the TF700 (Infinity), but I'm probably not in the market yet anyways. The next time I'll upgrade my tablet is when Snapdragon S4 Pro/Prime (Gen 2 Nexus 7/Nexus 10) and Tegra 4 devices start to make their way to store shelves. |
