Actually, the cost of ownership comes out to be $380(Data Plan 300MB $20x19 months=380). You are again eligible for upgrade at 20th month.

That website is janky. Won't let me add a second Lumia 920 when choosing the family plan option, but will let me select other phones. Theres other jankiness that I don't feel like explaining.

I think I will hold off.

I agree with you that people don't understand this concept. however, you can't really look at it the way you've presented it. If i have no contract -- how much how much would it cost to get the data plan i want... if i want it.

When I re-signed with AT&T retention I got $330 in credits from AT&T. I pay $30 a month for unlimited data on my phone and the other 2 lines pay $9.99 (they're dumb phones) -- we alos got the 450 minute plan and a free 5000 roll over. We also have 20% discount on the main line and data. Also they allowed us to get new phones if we wanted. Verizon has a better network and T-mobile and Sprint are terrible where I am located.

The question I have for you -- is If I want the data plan -- and i don't like t-Mobile or sprint - what real choice do I have? It is CHeaper for me to get the subsidized phone. I'd love to have the choice of choosing an inexpensive quality provider and pay full price for the phone. It doesn't exist.

So, you are asking if it is worth paying $300.00 for two years of non wifi internet on your phone? Are you suggesting you can get non wifi internet on your phone without paying for a data plan?

So if you are a renewing customer with ATT and want to stay in ATT where did the $919.98 come from?

Is it possible to select only the data plan with AT&T? From what I'm seeing, you must add a voice package, $40 is the cheapest, meaning the cost is really $40+$20/month over 20months...? Or am I missing something?

Edit: It appears that car toys only has the $30 data plan with 3gb. So really, the cost of ownership is $70/month over 24 months. Seems like a lot of money. I guess I will have to do without. I need medical insurance more

It's a very nice phone, my girlfriend owns one and loves it. I've played with it and really like parts of it, but the lack of a big app ecosystem made me go android, but I'd certainly recommend it to anyone due for an upgrade.
