So you got me to check which controller that SanDisk Extreme has. It's a SandForce. Those are not "very reliable". Past performance of a firmware-writing team is a good indicator of future performance, because robustness comes from a deep understanding of the problem and a culture of considering error cases. And the SandForce team most certainly has emphasized speed over safety before, and there's no indication that's changed (pure speed is still their biggest selling point).
OCZ gave SF a bad rep. Look at SanDisk Kingston Intel...they are all SF drives and are highly rated in reliability.
Well, my TD order from yesterday just got updated to back ordered so I jumped on this. Better value for money for $5 more. The mounting kit will be useful and the SSD mount will be useful as I can use the HDD I replace as a portable HDD after the swap.
