Picked up the S95 on Amazon for $200 during 2011 christmas, sold my S90 for $175 at the same time. Might try to flip the S95 for the S100 if I can get $175-$200 for the S95. Just picked up a RX100 today though, might just leave the s95 as a backup and not worry about upgrading. Great price, great camera.

Lens Error
Mine has had the lens error TWICE. I sent it in the first time and they returned it non-working. I sent it in the second time and they fixed it. A year later, the error appeared again. Will be sending it in a third time.Mine was in the batch of early cameras so cross your fingers and hope that the problem has been fixed. |

Personally I think it's splitting hairs comparing the IQ of the S95 vs. S100. My wife has the S95 but neither are great low light cameras. Either you have to upgrade to something like the Sony RX100 or perhaps the Olympus E-PM2 or E-PL5 to see real differences.

Yeah it was sitting at $249 for a really long time after black friday. I got in on the $229 deal. A friend had the lens error, but Amazon quickly exchanged it for her.

I've attached two samples...the church is low light in fully auto mode. The Christmas scene is fully manual. Also important to note - the shutter lag on this camera is practically non-existent.

The one thing THAT STILL SUCKS ABOUT CANON is that you cannot do panorama shots inside the camera. You have to take one shot at a time and then use their software to stitch the photos together, which requires a computer. As high end as this camera is supposed to be, that sucks! But still an amazing camera for its size! Just look at the sample pictures people have uploaded on Amazon, they look great! |
