AMAZON Prime - Leatherman 830850 Skeletool CX Multitool $52.89 LOWERED!

I have had this knife/multitool for a couple years now and it's what I carry when I need to pack a knife. I am not sure how much weight the CX version shaves off because I haven't seen the non CX in person to compare them, but as far as multitools it is the best one I have ever owned. I love how it has a manageable pocket knife form factor.

It is an excellent tool for day to day situations, and I hear it works well in a pinch if you are in an IT position. If you carry a pocket knife or a multitool or both this is the perfect replacement. I'll admit it has opened more beers and cut more boxes than anything else, but I love having the drivers and pliers handy when they are needed.

My only complaint really is the weight. This thing is meaty even with the CX construction, but I suppose the weight adds to the durability.

Forgot to mention that I love the non-serrated blade on this model, but this might be a downside to some.

Depends on your state.

But in general, this can be kept on your person except in private places as per their rules and some public institutions such as Gov't buildings, airport gates, some universities.

It's a weapon in the right situation. I feel much safer when I have it in my pocket. Only time it won't help is during a gun fight.

It isn't designed for self protection, but the blade is pretty intimidating. It also folds out in a way that locks unlike some multitools. It could be used in defense, but it isn't the best option. There really isn't anything to keep your hand from slipping up onto the blade if you make hard stab.

i cant justify spending this much money and get the slap with tax.. the best was a few years ago when the non cx version hit $30 bucks bought 3 flipped one.. one remains un flippable.. no matter how low i went so its sitting in a box somewhere. the other is with me. and yup feel naked without it. thats the feeling this thing has.. the other multi tools by leatherman are bulky and i lost them all some how... this has a clip and the form factor is lovely $30 -$35 not a penny more cx or not

Thanks. It's a little on the short side, but not a deal-breaker. I have a Gerber Evo Jr. I don't carry because it's a little too short for my taste, but this has more functionality and a more substantial handle.

On the fence I stay, I guess, unless they sell out or bump the price before I make up my mind.

It's significantly lighter in that it's partially made of carbon fiber which also, some claim, gives it a bit of a softer feeling in the hand, Also, the blade is of better quality on CX (or at least used to be when it was the serrated blade). It's also looks a lot better, but that's a matter of opinion of course.

I don't own either (yet), but did a lot of reading up on reviews to compare them and believe at this price point, the CX is a better value based on feedback from people who owned both.
