thought I would note. As this has been a good week for leatherman sales.
Skeletool Multitool (not CX) $33~ after tax and "casathirty" promo for 30% off
http://www.casa.com/p/leatherman-...ool-236164

My favorite the Supertool $41~ after tax and "casathirty" promo
http://www.casa.com/p/leatherman-...ath-235960

Supertool is my choice over the skeletool, though a lot prefer the skeletool. For the Supertool $41 is the cheapest you will find it.

I'm a proud owner of the Leatherman Wave. I take it with me wherever I go. If I don't have any luggage to check, I'll mail it ahead of me. Otherwise, I get separation anxiety :-)
I've got a Wave as well...LOVE the thing. But I can no longer ignore the Skeletool CX at this price. Big Grin

The supertool is a great price but a little big I think. I keep those in my car since it has so many tool options. The skeletool didn't impress me much - it's tool assortment vs price is only okay. I personally prefer my Juice because it is small enough while being big enough to fit in my pocket, etc. And with that said, I still use my micras and squirts the most.

I am a leatherman addict.

I've been looking to get one of these for a while, but decided to hold off until I found a deal. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm in for one.

Thinking about this, carry the little keychain style cs right now. I love the scissors on that, but pliers might be handy once in a while and obviously the nicer blade would be a plus.

$55 is not bad for a durable, portable toolkit. You may pay $5 for a philips screwdriver, another $5 for a flathead. A pair of scissors may cost $3 or $4, and these make excellent nail clippers ($2-$3). A solid pocket knife and all the accouterments therein run from $25-$30. A pair of pliers may cost $15. All that together costs $55--but it fills a miniature toolbag. The Leatherman fits on your belt or in your pocket.

Sorry, but would you suggest using the Skeletool's bottle opener or the knife as a nail clipper?

This is not the wave, and does not have a scissor or nail clipper.

That said, this is a fantastic multi-tool. I've owned it for a bit over a year - also added http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...os_product with it. I don't often use the screw driver bits, but they're a lifesaver when I use 'em.

I had a Leatherman Wave for 12-years, I used it on average every day. I just upgraded to the leatherman Charge Titanium.

any leatherman tool is awesome. When you have a multitool with you all the time, you can never go back to not having one.

Are you implying that a screwdriver or any other metal object couldn't be used for self defense? Or a brick? Hell, a broom?

You might not use something like this to kill a person, but if someone tried to mug you and you had a cell phone in one hand, and this in the other, I think this would greatly help you defend yourself.

Might not help you walking through Kabul, but sure as hell couldn't hurt walking home at night.

I bought mine 1 year ago from Amazon for $35. It is of superb quality and a very nice tool. I'm not totally convinced that $55 is the price to pay...
