The 3DS versions I think are much better. Anyhow, feel good that you're not waiting on Ninjini $80-$300 for something that will be plentiful by summer I was Dirty Harry, John Wayne, and G.I. Joe

picked up both eye brawl and thumpback at 10:07 am cst today at regular retail list price. amazon stated that there was an additional couple days for processing. should get them both by next wednesday. thanks for the heads up, op!
i personally love playing skylanders with my kids. it's quality entertainment and leads to great imaginary play away from the video game. |

However, to state that someone is going to spend $10 is entirely misleading. To purchase all the characters for this simplistic, yet cost-leaden game will cost hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, and that's if you get them at retail cost. NOBODY spends $10 on Drobot or Trigger Happy and is done with it. The starter pack alone runs $75. Let's not bamboozle those that have no idea what these are into thinking that they're "cheap toys." If one truly believes that $10 is the end of it, they live in a location called Fantasy Imagination Land, where these toys wouln't be "necessary to achieve a child's happiness." ![]() *Not that there's anything wrong with that, sis. ![]()

Any game where you buy accessories, DLC, or expansions all cost MORE than the initial fees. My kids love the characters and love unlocking new skills. I have been gaming since the Atari 2600 and its a great game that I can play/enjoy with my kids. I will concede that it can be a money pit if you purchase all of the figures but you don't have to any more than you have to purchase every Transformer, Barbie, ect... for your kids. With that said, we have about 50 as I enjoy the game and my kids play with them all day long outside the game.

The real genius is releasing these in incredibly small quantities spread out over time, thus creating a "shortage," and whipping guilt-ridden, love-starved parents into a frenzy to get a "hard to find" item for their precious children before anyone else does rather than simply teach patience, wait for the next shipment, and pay normal prices. No complaints here. Looking forward to the new Disney game that will undoubtedly use this strategy. My kid's college will be free! ![]() For what it's worth, parents of kids with a GPA of 4.0 (or for smaller kids, those that prove they've read X number of books in X amount of time) get the items at cost. It's not always about money!
