If you need advice/tips you can ask me too. I've been trading for 6 months now but researched/studied the market for 6 months prior to paper trading for another 3 months.

Options are too risky for noobs, and it involves some luck or good insider information. Over the last two weeks I made 5 digits trading SNE, BBRY (RIMM). I also shorted APPL at $550 and got super lucky when it tanked to $440.

I am a noob, got lucky and stopped trading options. Well, I'm holding only a couple on ACI right now... it took a giant hit at -16% so I jumped in for a JUL 7.00 CALL

I still paper trade, just to test the waters. So far my paper trade is -$167,000, but real trade... HOHO pretty good.

I have used Scottrade for years and could not be happier. I have also used Tradeking and while it was fine, Scottrade's format was much better IMHO. If you want a referral for Scottrade PM me, we would each get 3 free trades.

I did go to school for all of this but that doesnt really matter, right? My plan is to have my older brothers steer me in the right direction and i trust them plus they have been doing so well.

I have heard of them and if I didnt find anything else, that will be my choice.

Ameritrade, with an account you get access to the thinkorswim software which I think is pretty good/worth the price. Options fees are 9.99 + .75 per contract

take your 5000$ and pay for mentorship from someone with audited and successful trade record. If you get lucky you will find someone legit who mentors limited amount of people.

You will need to develop solid money management skills and trading plan. Otherwise you will lose it all. ~90% of retail option buyers lose money, odds are 9 to 1 against you.

Some say paper trade first, but in reality it does not work. Although it does pay off to put in the hours and study the market you are focusing on. But as i said most importantly you need to be mentored by someone who knows what he/she is doing. Otherwise donate your money to charity of your choice right away it will do more good for the society.

As I stated, possibly not clear enough but i have two older brothers who deal with trading/investment for a living and do extremely well. I completely trust them with my money and the direction they will be providing me.

IMO, you can not trust anyone with your money, period. It is your money and your life. Especially when it comes to investment. Do your own due diligence, always. If you can not do that - say bye bye to your money in the long run.

We are entering unprecedented times in human history and in financial markets in particular. Nobody was here before. Nobody. Things that used to take years, now literally take days.Things that many thought were not possible before are an every day occurrence now. Highly volatile environment is yet to blow up plenty more accounts.

You are correct about college education being worthless here. In a way its a trader's paradise, but if your game is not up to the mark - its over.

Pick up Jesse Livermore's book "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator" and read it before you make your first trade. After you are done, start over and read it again. After a year of trading or so come back and read the book again, perhaps only then you will start truly appreciating this book..
