Heads Up: Straight talk, Net10, tracphone removing AT&T offering. AT&T SIMS still available at walmart.com until sold out

Deal Details

I spoke with Straight Talk tonight about switching and was told that they recently have decided that AT&T will no longer be offered. Anyone with a current AT&T SIM will continue to receive service but once SIMs are sold out, no more will be offered.

So as a heads up to people who love ST or net10, might want to buy another backup AT&T SIM while supplies last at walmart.

Retail price may be a hot deal as sold out = gone for good.

Rep did not tell me why they were doing this but the straightalk website confirms it as you can now only order a T-mobile SIM.

Are there any code or numbers on the SIM card to identify that I got a GSM with AT&T (and not TMobile) card?

I've been away from this thread for a bit and I don't want to read all 20 pages. Is there any update about why ST stopped selling these? Have they confirmed that AT&T is giving them the boot or anything? (My GF and I have been on ST for about a year and we're getting more family members switched over and I'm just crossing my fingers that they aren't going to suddenly cancel everyone with an AT&T sim)

Well, don't just trust me but here it goes.I've got an old t-mobile st sim card and right under SIM CARD it reads TF64PSIMT5B and i've got and old at&t st sim, using it now that reads under SIM CARD TF64PSIMC4B,and the 2 sim cards that i just got from walmart today they also read like my old at&t st sim. So,only difference i can see is at the end,T5B,T-MOBILE and C4B at&t.Hope that helps

SIMC4B are AT&T regular sims and SIMC4MB are AT&T micro sims. They are also white or blue and the T-mobile ones are pink.

Your sim card comes with a card that shows the apn settings to enter. If it gives you the att settings it's an att sim card. If it has the T-Mobile settings than it's a T-Mobile sim.

I haven't had a chance to check the whole forum, but I went to Walmart tonight, stopped in the wireless section and asked if the had AT&T sims. The guy pulled 5 micros out of the closet and they where marked in sharpie on the outside $9.98. He told me they wouldn't be selling these in store anymore, but if you ordered online and did instore pickup they would be $9.98. The Walmart I was at was the Merritt island Florida store. Not sure if this is nationwide but I picked up 3 out of the 5.

It went out of stock for a couple minutes while they changed the maximum number you can buy per order from 10 of each size sim to 2 of each.

* edit * nevermind out of stock again Smilie

So my micro sim came and I happily installed it, etc. I have an iPhone 4, unlocked, iOS 6.1. I cannot change the APN settings. Everything I see online tells me I need to buy a T-mobile sim card to change the APN settings, then I can put my straight talk sim back in. This seems strange. Is there anything else I can do?
I tried the 'unlockit' download but that did not help. I can send text messages just fine, but I cannot access the internet.

When checking to see that the micro sim comes up out of stock for me too, I noticed that they now have the site to store option on the regular sim which is still it stock. At least you can save on shipping now.
