I think in-theory you can mix if they are both HomePlug AV adapters. However, I would look for user reviews to see if anyone has really been successful with mixing these 2.

It looks like mixing 200Mbps and 500Mbps adapters isn't recommended due to performance degradation.

Can someone tell me how this compare to Moca? Sorry for my ignorance, but I want to be able to stream HD to three tvs and trying to figure out easiest way to do it. Thanks

I am using this modem in my house. It is great. It connects my office upstairs with the cable modem downstairs since WiFi signal is very weak.

Hopefully Gigabit Squared in Seattle will some day extend to the rest of Puget Sound

I love the Powerline technology, have used it for years, post Powerline deals once in a while and help people on here and locally with it. However, I see absolutely no reason for this to be on the FP and people jumping on it like crazy. Here is the justification:

1. Pairs of 1-port 500Mbps adapters often sell for $45-$50. There was a $45 pair posted yesterday. Is the built-in 4-port switch worth $35?
2. Stand-alone 5-port switches often go for $15. There is one on sale right now [newegg.com] (promo code EMCXVXM64). So, the convenience of the built-in 4-port switch is hardly worth $20 extra.
3. Newegg is selling a combo hybrid wireless/Powerline solution with a built-in switch and a Wi-Fi router that is more versatile and may work better for some people. If you need an all-in-one solution for ease of installation, that combo is a better deal at $10 less [newegg.com]. It's 200Mbps, but in many houses you won't see much improvement going with 500Mbps adapters.

4. This was $85, $86, $90 on multiple occasions in the past 4+ months, with hardly any interest. The only other times this hit the FP in this timeframe was twice in October, at $90, posted by... Discombobulated. Things that make you go "Hmm.."

I am looking to stream Video over this device...i already have a Securifi Almond Wireless N Router + Range Extender (Booster) in my home. Although i want to use an Outside camera (Alarm.com - ADCV720W - Adc-v720w Outdoor Wireless Ip Camera W/nite Vsn) through my Alarm.com service. I obviously do not have a strong enough wireless signal outside my home to stream fast enough with the Almond Device... does anyone know if this will be a good substitute for the streaming ? if i plug right into the Ethernet port ?

Is should work....my tracking shows you in 5 story walk up. That works fine. Larger buildings may have apter on different transformers.

Once the signal is in your apt you can add your own wifi AP (just disable dhcp and use hub ports on 1 of the routers)

Remember the days when all of NYC had open routers....now we must pay or spend 30min to figure neighbors TWC wep pwd. (Mac address plus 14 zeros)

I stream 1080p over the MoCA portion of my network, but cannot even consistently stream 720p, at lower bitrates even, over the Powerline part of my network. I have the exact same models of ZyXEL products as in this post.

Thank you! I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something or behind the times. I'm sure Powerline works great for a lot of people, but I thought the MoCA would be the safer/ maybe better bet.

In for two.....have always had great luck with this product......just wanting to add more to connect more devices. Currently have my router in the basement, and my computer on the third floor, no issues.
