NYCers- how does this work out with the surcharge at all Manhattan AMC locations? Is it still a good deal? Last time I used one of these (over a year ago) I remember having to pay a couple more dollars on top because all Manhattan theaters are "prime" locations or something.

Great deal for those who will use it. Personally, I prefer the before-noon showings ($5 here). Not only are they cheaper, but they are usually ~10% full!

There is a 2.50 per ticket surcharge for NYC. so in the end itll cost about $10. NYC movies cost about $14.

Savings of $4 per movie.

FYI-Just got off the phone with a Costco rep. They wouldn't let me use the number due to it belonging to a different person and also because it has been expired since 2008!!!
Worked for me online. I just grabbed it from the last AMC Costco deal post here.

Is there any risk to using someone elses membership number? Will they see any of my information (name address, credit card, etc)? I can always use a generated CC number, but just wondered how it works.
unlikely name and address, and no way your full cc number is displayed

I really want to get this because tickets for new releases are $13.75 at the closest AMC theater near me, which is very nice. But they have reserved seating and you can't purchase online, so that means I'd most likely be stuck in the very front row if I had to give it to them right before the movie started.

Can you purchase tickets at the box office for movies the next day?

Yes, I have done this before at my nearby AMCs

I used my friends membership # for the $63 deal last year and got the tickets, no problem. Used it again just now.

Thanks OP!

difference between gold and silver?
The biggest difference between the two is the surcharge you have to pay for AMC Dine-in Theaters. With gold you will pay less. I found that out when I was in Orlando's AMC Dine-in.

Others have already mentioned that silver requires you to wait 2 weeks whereas gold let you see new movies. But most theaters don't have reserved seating and they don't check for tickets. So I often used silver on older movies to watch the movies that requires gold.

And as some pointed out, the surcharge for IMAX and/or 3D is exactly the same for gold and silver. So realistically gold and silver are pretty much the same. Other than the Dine-in theaters I haven't found a situation where gold ticket will cost me less out of pocket.

Do these work on indian movies since they show indian movies in our area ?? I know some times regal and rave wouldnt accept. Any one tried these tickets for foreign movies ??

Thanks.
I don't think the language, content or any other detail of the movie is relevant. If it's in the AMC building, you should be able to get in. How these Gold tickets actually work is, you go to the box office anyway, and swap your certificate with an actual ticket stub. I don't see why not.

It is cheaper in the store. 2/pack for $13.99 this weekend.

True. But for us New Englanders, you have to go out in the snow. Also tax doesn't seem to be charged in some states for the online purhcase but will be in the stores.

I don't know about you, but in my area you can't watch a new release with a Silver. It's a simple procedure and first thing they check.
