Nook HD is an awesome 7" tablet. I like to try out tablets for 14 days and then return it. No harm done. My Nook HD is running CM10.1 (Android 4.2.1) using hybrid mode, so it boots off the microSD, but then runs off of the main storage. The screen also just cannot be beat. It's not only the high resolution, but also the perfect balance of clarity, contrast, and brightness.
I thought the Nexus 7 was a pretty awesome tablet. But the screen - it's high res (not as high as the Nook HD), but you have to turn up the brightness when watching movies with dark scenes. I just didn't like the screen as much as the Nook HD. The Galaxy 2 7" is a nice grandpa tablet. You can't go wrong. It's well built, reliable, easy to use, but you can see the bricks on the screen; big pixels. I think it's good for older people. I'm sticking with my Nook HD until the retina iPad Mini comes out. After using the 7" tablet, my iPad is just too bulky. I like the feel of the current iPad Mini, but I just can't get myself to buy a shrunk iPad 2 which is like 2 years old now. |

I have a Nexus 7 myself, but still wish it had expandable memory because even if 32GB is enough to hold a good amount of films, it's easier to pop in a microSD card full of media when going on the road than hooking the tablet up to a computer via USB. (For that purpose, I have an OTG cable and stickmount, but then you have a dongle to contend with.) Plus, who wants to compress/reencode their films to a lower bitrate/resolution just to use them on the smaller screen? |

Everything I own is Apple products but I picked up one of these a few moments ago.
Why? Simply due to the price and the expandable memory possibilities. Also, not all of us can afford data plans or even have access to those data connections and the cloud at all times as the direction things seem to be heading.

hard to prick this as the nexus 7 is so close in price.
I have to Stay away as: - 1024x600 resolution. vs 1280x800 some may argue the aactual nude for such high resolution on 7" but it does make everything look sharper. - only 1 ghz dude core vs twuat core 1.2 ghz (what are we in 2011?) - correct me if I'm wrong but this DOES NOT have the SPen assessory. (that is really useful after using it from the Note 2 phone) On the Plus side the screen quality of the samsung with their AMOLED tech is really nice. breast I've ever seen. For all those that whine about no expandable slut for nexus you have to rimmerlize that it support USB on the Choad. the are $2 usb dongls on ebay you insert into the bottom rear of the usb port that give it a full size USB port to insert USB sticks to add extra membery. =================================
My days as a sales person @ bestbuy Customer: This stupid phone I bought last week won't work right Me: So it's the phone thats stupid and not you right? Customer: I'm looking for an easy way to access my media files with my laptop when I'm in the yard. Me: Sports Authority is having a sale on walking shoes. |

As a person in the market for a small android tablet, this isn't bad, but I think that I'm going to go for the nexus 7 offer at staples. This is how I see it:
Staples - 32 GB for $249 - $20 GC + $15 tax = $244 This deal - $179.99 + $20 for 32 GB SD card = $199.99 So, for about $44-$45 more you get a better processor and a better screen. To me, that's worth it. Though you do have to mess with the gift card, which is a pain in the ass, I'll admit. |

I'm surprised they're even supporting Jellybean on it, since it was such an up-in-the-air ordeal to get ICS on these guys. I think they finally got it around July or August 2012, but they also let the 7.0 plus have it (which is something like 98-99% identical to the 2).
