Whats the comparison betweeen these Quintet Generation 4s and the new Generation 5s? I know the Gen 5s lose the stands but are supposed to be better speakers.

Just picked up a set thanks OP! I've had the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 speakers hooked up to my Onkyo for years. Not sure if there will be much of a difference but for the price it is worth a try. Regardless, the mancave will be hooked up now!

Does it come with a receiver or just the speakers?

I have been told that the Gen 5s are more multidirectional. I'm trying to decide which ones to keep. On Sunday, I ordered the Gen 5s for around 300 after taxes. Today, I ordered the gen 4s for 140 after taxes.

I will probably keep the Gen 4s. There can't be that much difference between the two, especially at that price point. Plus, I am able to get a 300ish watt subwoofer by Klipsch for 299 at new egg, shipped. Makes it easier to buy.

Probably clearance set. I saw a bunch of these new at a box in my local bestbuy. Shelf priced is > $200 but online price for store pickup is $137. Looks like shelf price is not updated that's why it's not getting much attention B&M.

My wife hates even 5 speakers. She doesn't like bass. When she watches movie with me I had turn sub down. Now I watch movies on PC.

I am curious. How many speakers do you have at home?

The website said the Douglasville, GA store had two open box (including one for $108). Made the trip and they couldn't find then despite looking for about 30 minutes. FYI for anybody in the Atlanta area.
