Inspired by this thread and specifically this post, I did some digging to look for the 50 GB offer from for Dell advantage customers.

It turns out that the link does NOT seem to be specific to a user, so ANYONE can use it. Besides, they seem to WANT to share with your co-workers and friends. Consider yourselves my friends hug

50 GB link []

Thread FAQ
50 GB of web storage
250 MB file size limit
10 GB - monthly shared bandwidth limit (calendar) []
Simple sharing and collaboration
Mobile app access

- I already signed up on the 25GB promo, can I sign up again?
For those who signed up previously with a gmail account, you can use the multiple gmail aliases trick [], to sign up again for the 50 GB.

So instead of signing up for, sign up with, and it should sign you up to a new account. Posters have reported this works and some use for ease of remembering.

- It seems to require a phone number. Do I have to give my real phone number?
Yes, a phone number is required, and no, it does not have to be a real one.

- Can I merge multiple accounts together?
No, this is not possible. From's FAQ []:

Quote :
We currently do not provide account merge functionality, and email address cannot be associated with more than one Box account
Posters HAVE reported being able to share folders from one account to the other, though. This might run into sharing bandwidth issue, though.

Ladies and Gentleman who are complaining about the upload size, bandwidth limits etc, you might want to remember this is FREE and it's 50GB of cloud storage that you didn't have before.

Furthermore, you can use a program like Winrar or 7zip to manage larger file sizes.

Forget the gmail trick. You'll STILL be logging in with an email other than your own regular log-in. Do the account hop. Or, in this case, the box hop! Heres what I did.

1. I added a disposable email address to my old (25) account.
(click gear icon > account settings > then scroll down to add emails)
2. I made that NEW (disposable) email address the primary account email.
3. I deleted my original (good) email from the account.

4. I made a NEW (50) account using a 3rd email (disposable)
5. I added my original (good) email to the new account.
6. I made the original (good) email the primary.
7. I deleted the 3rd (disposable) email.

You can now log in with your original email. No having to remember +(something)

Edit. I revised this to show EXACTLY what I did. I didn't actually cancel my old account and make a new one as I mentioned before. I assumed that would work the same. Maybe (and perhaps probably) not.

For the above, You can still use the gmail trick to swap primary accounts, so you won't have to keep signing up for new email. Basically you need your primary email, then 2 gmail trick emails ex. &

Not sure how to interpret this: Why would they need to use to sync?? Confused(b) License to Box. Customer grants to Box and its contractors an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to access, use, modify, and delete any information, materials, data, files, programs, ideas and opinions provided or made available by Customer ("Customer Content") through the use of Software for the sole purpose of synchronizing the services made available through the Software with the services made available through the Website.

This is really sweet, but also made me concerned how long it can remain in business. Wish they do well
Lots of corporations pay for access for their employees. I've run across several clients who use box, so it's not unheard of to have paying customers.

I apparently already had 50GB account from a previous promotion. Nice to see it come up again!

I signed up for the 25GB offer, uploaded about 10 GB and then tried downloading on another computer and at 5GB it told me if I wanted to download anymore I had to sign up for their paid service.

Unless you don't plan on downloading this is a scam to get you to sign up for their paid service.

There is a 10 GB bandwidth limit per month.

Wonder if I wait for next week they will bump the offer up to 100GB...
Unlikely. 50GB AFAIK is the largest free account they've given.

How many are folks making...could be useful to have spares and it doesn't cost them much just to have the account on file.

There is a bandwidth limit of 10GB/mo. This means that to fill your space it will take at least 5 months, and if you ever want to get all your content back, it will take another 5 months. I am in since it's free, but this is an interesting limitation...

edit: According to their support site the bandwidth only applies to the public links, so maybe this is a non issue?

If I signed up for a 25gb account can I delete and recreate an account using the same email for the 50gb account so that I can use the same email address?

I see the delete option for accounts but don't know if they allow recreation...

I currently use DropBox on my iPad, but when playing a music cd, after each song I have to click the next song for it to play rather then auto play. Any cloud storage options out their that allows music/audio tracks to auto play? so I dont have to wait for a song to finish and then click next song.
