Newegg FAR w/ FS McAfee Internet Security 2013 - 3 PCs + 16GB USB3.0 Flash Drive

Do they count 1 unique item per calendar year or 1 year after last purchase? I mean if I buy McAfee Internet Security 3User on December 2012, do I qualify now? or I should wait until next December?

It's 1 rebate per unique product, period. You've done a rebate on this particular product, you can't do it again. That is unless you use a different address+phone+email combination on the rebate form.

I'd take Kasperksy over McAfee any day of the week. McAfee is serious bloatware with constant nags and is a royal pain to remove. It's like what Norton used to be 10 years ago.

If you could get you hands on more Norton stuff, I'd go with that.

It's the product (IS 2013 is different from IS 2012 and IS 2013 1 PC is different from IS 2013 3 PC) that matters and not 1 calendar year from your earlier purchase. So, if you had already bought IS 2013 3 PC already last December, you don't qualify for the rebate this time around.

What is the basis of your ranking? PCMag, for instance, rates Norton tops, then Kaspersky looks pretty good, then McAfee isn't really ranked properly beccause the 2013 software wasn't ready at the time of ranking, and Eset is in the not-so-hot category. Even the McAfee 2012 is ranked higher than Eset.

I would if I could but I already have a 3-user FAR NIS 2013. I'd get another box if it were free. I guess I could wait, but I'd prefer to have one NOW. Maybe I'll just do the Kaspersky FAR deal.

Just out of curiosity, is Comcast your HSI provider? You can get Norton for free from them. I keep hearing about it and seeing links, but I find I still do the FAR deals from Newegg anyway.

Actually, yes, they are. I don't know about any free Norton from them... I'll check into it. I'm out of the country at the moment, though.

Thanks OP! I'm in it for the flash drive! The reviews on it don't really look that bad. I won't be using the McAfee.

P.S. I do consider ESET to be the top! It's only been FAR once or twice, but for the antivirus only. Not the Smart Security suite.

It's general knowledge. Rankings will always vary. I've been using Eset for the last couple of years but I used Kaspersky for years before then and might switch back, I often get Norton, McAfee, and others because I make money on top but either give them to others or throw them away.
