I dig Bragg's and have used this particular product in small doses, but folks should be aware that this is really nothing more than a different take on soy sauce - not really an "alternative." It's made from soybeans for god sake.

Didn't even notice that. 920mg vs 660mg is really not much difference unless you plan on drinking it daily. Most people uses few drops at a time, that makes the gap even smaller.

Soy sauce is usually fermented with wheat, which gives it a different flavor than Liquid Aminos, which contains no wheat. Liquid aminos has no preservatives other than the salt, while most soy sauces use sodium benzoate (or similar preservative). If either of those is a concern, then Liquid Aminos is an alternative to soy sauce.

Yikes that is a lot of salt. Too much for my family and maybe peole use a few drops check out the recipes that call for 1/4 cup.

You are so wrong about this. There are so many scientifically wrong facts in this thread it makes me want to scream. First, the OP says this stuff is "chemical free", which is not true. Look up the definition of a chemical. Also, MSG is MSG, no matter where it comes from. You are unfortunately confused. Glutamine is one of the 22 amino acids that make up human proteins. Our bodies naturally have the ability to convert glutamine to glutamic acid, which is also considered an amino acid and is used as a neurotransmitter. Now here's the kicker, MSG (monosodium glutamate) is the salt form glutamic acid. They are no different, and synthesized MSG is no different than the glutamate that's running around in your blood and nerves right now.

The reasons to avoid MSG would be the sodium, if you are on a low salt diet. Or if it causes headache when you ingest it. (Remember the part about it being a neurotransmitter?)

There's some study correlating MSG with obesity. I just think that the MSG makes food taste good so people eat more of it. Try to use your heads and not over eat the yummy foods and you'll be ok. NOM NOM NOM
