Does it come with a back brace for your trash collector?

Very nice...I'm sure the contractors that stole it from my house love it. It actually is ideal in NYC to demo/remodel and wheel to dump shoot or to truck. In many hoods brownstones are too far back for a shoot direct to dumpster. Very tough.

I got this for trash since 3 tenants...now back to normal Rubbermaid ones that sanitation destroy on me in 6 months.

Many negatives to this in my opinion:

1.) I'd never roll something out to the curb that is worth $100+ unless of course I was intentionally trying to get rid of it.

2.) As someone indicated above, the trash collectors will hate you for this.

3.) I don't see why a big piece of plastic should cost this much.

3.)There are quite a few negative reviews.

All that said, if this item works for you then its obviously a good deal relative to the normal price.

I swear Menards has had this way cheaper...it might even have been nicer then this one (very heavy duty)...

Pretty sure this is the regular price at Home Depot. No shipping though. I have one, as do every one of my neighbors. It's not bad for the price.

The difference is that through Amazon, it's delivered for the exact same price. My cans are shot. These will easily replace them hopefully with better quality. Thanks and repped!

Your points obviously are valid for you and your neighborhood but do not apply to the masses. See in "red" my reality below.

3.) Budget has nothing to do with the fact that I think a retail price of $164 is ridiculous for a big plastic garbage can. That's why Amazon can sell it for $59 delivered. It probably cost Rubbermaid $20 to make these things, if that.

4.) (your second "3") Maybe they are, but that doesn't mean everything they make is going to satisfy customers or be a great product. Go to Amazon and read the reviews for yourself. They are not horrible, but not great either & many seem like legit complaints.

That kind of sums it up.

I have a big ass 96 gallon trash can like this from Lowes. It was around 100 bux out the door, no sales. If you live in a neighborhood that has a truck with the lifter arm to grab these and dump them, they are great. I would not reccomend getting a can this large without first making sure your trash truck can support it. Way too big to ask the trash man to lift on his own.

I've had one of these for six years now. Trash put out in it twice/year. I'm pretty diligent about all trash being bagged, and the trash guys don't lift our cans - they open them and take the bags out.

In that environment, these are worth every penny, I think, and are a great buy at this price. Even after six years, mine just requires an occasional rinse with the hose and a spray of lysol and it honestly looks just like new. We used to go through trash cans every two or three years. I see this one lasting another 10 years, easily, so it's even a good buy, for those talking about budget. The extra size and weight helps stabilize it in windy weather and helps with rodents, although the lid does NOT lock (the one feature I wish it had).

Anyway, just my $0.02. If you have trash guys that want to pick up your trash can or you don't diligently bag your trash (so they HAVE to pick up your can to empty it), then this might not be for you. Otherwise, I've found it to actually be a great buy despite the high initial cost.
