Got this from Frys couple of months ago for the same price, worth every penny! You would not regret even with all that native 60hz confusion etc..

Is this really a good deal? I believe I bought this same model for 400 on black friday from Frys. Yes it is black friday but the price gap is substantial.

I have this TV, updated the Firmware to the higher end model based on instructions found via google and now have all the menu options.

Are LEDs supposed to have the best picture quality. I've been in the market for a while and from my personal experience, plasmas have superior picture quality than LEDs

That's pretty subjective but most put plasma above LCD (/LED) given similar quality panels.

It's mostly because of the better blacks compared to LCD/LED and don't suffer from the light leakage. But all else being equal, the panel choice more comes down to environment than picture quality. LCD/LED tend to be brighter, less heat/electricity

dont think plasma's are above lcd or led quality.. viewing angles on plasma are terrible

Wait, what? You may have that backwards. Plasma doesn't suffer from angle-distortion at all. LCD is what can distort even when viewing just off-center (outside of IPS screens). I did forget about that, not only can the picture be much better but you don't have to worry about motion blur or viewing angles.

I wish it wasn't, I'm in the market to replace my '07 Panny plasma and I'm hoping to go LED to cut down on energy usage (I want to leave it running cycling through high-res images but won't with the plasma.).
