I'm still looking for one. I guess we have to go the used route to find a quiet, short cycle and good cleaning dishwasher. One would think that appliances and technology would improve over time, not worsen.
I agree, and very much miss the working dishwasher we replaced with a kitchen "upgrade". Under no circumstances get one that has the manual removable basket like filter under the bottom rack. A mechanical control is also good as it gives a heck of a lot of flexibility the electronic one's won't allow. Like wanting a longer wash cycle by resetting the dial before the standard rinse. Can't do that with electronical.
The new one is quiet, but at the expense of features I'd rather have despite some assuring background noise.
Which model Maytag is it and how long does a cleaning cycle take?
Well, I'm not sure. The tote that my warranties are in is on the top shelf in my office ANSI would have to make noise to get it down and I don't want to wake up DH. I will get it down tomorrow and let you know.
It has several options as far as cleaning cycles and can take anywhere from about 30-40 minutes to an hour and a half, if you have it set to sanitize.
I've learned so much from my mistakes, I'm thinking of making a few more.
