may brick if you boot Linux
Careful: Some recent Samsung laptops fail permanently if you boot Linux, so if you're thinking of it, stay away from these with their minimal warranty.http://www.h-online.com/open/news...93958.html This bug has also been reproduced under Windows, but only under extraordinary circumstances. http://hardware.slashdot.org/stor...x-specific Note that this is truly bricked, not usable not recoverable by anybody but the manufacturer. If a virus writer decided to maliciously do this you'd be out of luck. Probably doesn't have to affect many people, but I'd hate to see anyone get bitten by this. |
