Nevermind, I misread the posts on the first page. The coupon is in-store only, and deals are online only.

I got a response from MaxPerks customer service. Basically, they said that prices may vary from region to region and that my offer may not match up with others.

However, upon rechecking my order, I found that I was not charged $16.49 (as advertised), but was charged $14.49. And checking my MaxPerks account, the MaxPerks award wasn't $13.49 (a dollar less than $14.49), instead I was credited with $13.79 (as advertised).

In the quoted bit above, when I mentioned "advertised" price it referred to the price in the ad not the price on the product page. In this case, the "advertised" price had to be backed into by adding a dollar to the "fixed" bonus rewards payout amount of $13.79.

By the way, the product page price in my area was $14.49 (as noted in the OP). No idea why the system did not charge you the product page price of $16.49 for your region and award $15.49 in bonus rewards.

Update for the week of 02/17: No bonus rewards items at least in the weekly flyer.
