Man, that is nice! I actually returned my unopened GT50 to Best Buy prior to ordering it from Amazon. Do you live near a Paul's TV by chance?
I've stopped trying to have B&M stores match online prices as it just turns out to be too much of a hastle. Hopefully BB is starting to change their tune in 2013....
I'm in San Diego and I believe the closest one is up in the LA area. Although Paul's TV is an authorized dealer the BB rep said because it was $100 below BB's at-cost price its up to the store's discretion whether to price match. The manager told him to write off the floor model (for a replacement?) and to sell me the new one at that price.
All said and done it was $1084.99 otd with free delivery
I just went through the entire price match game with Amazon on a Panasonic 50" GT50. Paulstv.com is $1,139.99 - $140 with the SAVE140 coupon code for a total of $999.99 with free shipping. Amazon would price match the $1,399.99, but not the discount code. Just my luck, I thought my search was finally over... Maybe I will try again tomorrow with a different rep.

What you said above doesn't make sense to me, but I think I understand what you are trying to say.
Bottom line, some Amazon reps don't do it, but most of them will. When I got them to PM, they logged into Paulstv.com, and added the coupon to get the 999 price. I told them I would rather buy from Amazon than someone else and the rep obliged. It all depends on how good you are at convincing. Saying something like "Amazon has previously matched PaulsTV on something else I bought" usually helps.
And now (since yesterday) Pauls sold out of the TC-P50GT50's, so I cannot call back to try another rep. I guess it wasn't meant to be... It's all in the timing.
Update, I filed a complaint with Amazon because they kind of screwed me on this deal that that have given to others and this was their response...
"I'm writing in regards to your recent e-mail about not receiving the Low Price Guarantee for the Panasonic 50-inch TC-P50GT50. I've looked into this and would like to apologize, because we do offer price matching on Paulstv.com with the coupons, but it is no longer available for purchase.
I am currently unable to issue you the Low Price Guarantee, but I have issued you a $50.00 promotional certificate as an apology, which you can use the next time you order an item sold and shipped by Amazon.com.
You'll see your available promotional balance at checkout when placing an order through the Shopping Cart--this amount will be applied to your next qualifying order automatically and does not require a claim code.
