It's so funny to read someone who dislikes the state of the game right now so he stops playing then come to the idiotic conclusion that the game is dead. smh

It's fantastic that people who hate World of Warcraft feel the need to post their hate here. If you don't like the game, why do you care if it's on sale? You're not stopping people who like it from purchasing MoP.

Feeling some nostalgia here. I sunk about 3 years of my life into this game. Almost lost my wife the 3rd year so stopped. But boy this game was so much fun in the beginning when everything was new and fresh and every starting area was filled with peeps. I think the people who disliked this game were those that did not start playing it when it was initially released. They really missed out. Also made some great friends in this game that I still play other online games with to this day.

Brawler's Guild, hmmm. Must resist the temptation just to get a look at this expansion. Maybe when it's free in the fall I'll play the free month.

I agree if they are just spewing hate about the game. However, I think voicing an opinion that the game is now dead or past its prime is a valid point. If I was on the fence about picking up the x-pack and coming back to the game, I would want to know opinions before purchasing this just like any other product. I for one will pass on this, I'm looking forward to the new MMO that Blizzard has been working on since WoW used to be an amazing game. I hope they adopt a similar sales model as GW2.

Personally, I find that the game has changed so much, and in a good way. I no longer am in college and I no longer can devote an additional 30+ hours a week to a game like I could before. They've made changes so that a "hard core" player can still raid and play decently hard core, all the while also appeased the "casual" gamer group. They've added additional things to do in game, which again, caters to different groups. There's pokebattles, scenarios, LFR/LFD, quests can actually be pretty refreshing and fun. Check points when doing quests (which honestly helps it not be so daunting) - achievements, exploration things (lost artifacts etc), and Challenge Mode.

Of course there are things that aren't as good as well, like what they've done to the talent tree. But, supposedly, that's supposed to even the playing ground.

They've brought the factions together closer, so that on a PVP server, there will be more world PVP than there was in past xpacs.

The xpac was just released in Sept 2012, however, they're coming out with new additional content already. They will keep losing subscribers, but that's to be expected with any aging game, however, I'd say it's far from dead.

Much like everyone said, the game is too easy and making dailies a requirement to get gear from Valor is stupid. Many classes are broken and won't be fixed until next expansion. Plus as many stated it does not take a lot to be good and many numbers are based on gear, not skill. And I haven't even started on the loot system yet .........

Mixed bag here, IMO. There's some positives, some negatives. The overwhelming need to do dailies I think is a big negative, but I did like the new zones. That said, I quit playing very early on. That's a relative statement - 3 level 90s, raid experience, exalted with most factions. This is the least amount of time I've invested into a WoW xpac by FAR.

Good price, mediocre product. It's been out a while, so if you don't have it yet, you're likely a returning player. This content isn't worth returning to, if you ask me. If you've quit, your life is probably better. Don't get sucked back in by this!

Honestly... "this" many years later, they are still able to charge $15/month (not including multi-month paying discounts)? I wish they dropped the standard monthly to $10 or even as low as $5.. but I guess they don't have to because they haven't done it yet (if ever?). Of course, F2P would be best, but doubt that would ever happen.

For everyone who is saying it's a requirement to do dailies: It's not. It's faster to earn valor that way, yes, but it's not required. You can still earn valor by doing heroics, scenarios, and raiding. Slower, but again, not required.

As for LFR/LFD and easily gearing up: They wanted to allow everyone to see the content, dungeons, and raids. Not just a select few. Back in Wrath and before that, there were many people who didn't raid because it just wasn't possible for them to. This now appeases both the hard core and casual crowd, where they both get to see content.

The game's not dead though, which is another reason I hate those who are misinforming people on the fence about purchasing this expansion pack. It's got the largest player base out there, and that's because it's subscription based. Sure, millions may have purchased Guild Wars 2, but how many of them are playing it as frequently as the average WoW player? WoW players are encouraged to play, because it they don't, they'll feel as if they're wasting their $15 for that month. It's also an extremely enjoyable game with fantastic end-game, unlike Guild Wars 2 which has hardly any end-game.

If you like World of Warcraft, buy this expansion pack. The battle chest is cheap right now, and this plus Cata will give you loads of content for you buck. Overall the entire WoW pack is less than $60 at this point, providing people with hundreds of hours worth of content for just $15 a month, if you're paying for individual months.

If you're in support of f2p mmos, that's great, but the only decent one out right now is Guild Wars 2, and that's because its developers were smart enough to make it f2p from launch. You either make it f2p from launch or don't make it f2p at all. WoW is not set up to be played using the f2p model, and Blizzard doesn't need to transform it into a f2p game in order to make money.
