Good find. Went with the 27 pc SAE and metric. Was in need of a new socket wrench.

Not sure if I need another wrench set or not....

These aren't your average toolsets. Look into craftsman industrial.

Grabbed the 26 piece. Good deal on that set.

I bought the 17 piece SAE 1/2" set several weeks ago at Sears outlet- I recall it was less than $40, but I don't recall exactly what the price was.

Very nice set; got it primary for the 1/2" ratchet. flex handle, and large 6 pt sockets (up to 1.25").

The tools are marked "Craftsman Industrial", and the finish is quite nice on the set I got.

The case is also one of the better cases, but really, if you have a tool box it isn't really needed.

I don't think that anyone is going to think they are buying Snap-on or Matco type stuff for this cheap. However they do seem to be a higher end consumer model. I had my Dad look them over and he gave them a thumbs up. He's been a wrench turner most of his life (built, repaired, and taught how to repair vehicles). He said that if properly taken care of these should last my entire life. More so because I'm just a hammer swinger haha

CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A PARTICULAR SET HERE?

Sorry for caps, trying to get attention.

I'm a basic guy, no hobbies requiring a ton of tools. Just a do-it-yourselfer that has the basics. Often I will find myself saying "Man, wish I had a socket set for this. Or for that."

I want to get some sockets but I do know the differences in size matter. So...what are some basic recommendations here? Is there a set here that is best to get as it will conform the best? If not just 1 set, what are the 2-basic sets I should get that will cover 90%+ of the basic projects around the house and car?

Any help is greatly appreciated! I don't need a 1,000+ set, just a small set or two that will cover me for a majority of what sockets are needed for.
