Trying to figure out if I want to order one of these sets, and if so, which one. Came across this interesting article at that explains many features of socket sets that most people don't think about, like how many teeth the rachet has (it makes a difference in how far back you have to move the handle to get the next click), sockets that are easy to read the sizes, etc. See the article at http://www.familyhandyman.com/DIY...t/View-All

Anyone know how these Craftsman Industrial wrenches compare, in # of teeth in the rachet and are the sizes easy to read on the sockets?

Also, for those who are arguing Craftsman Industrial vs. Kobalt, it has some interesting findings on Kobalt, including their unique warranty in which they'll replace lost sockets for the price of shipping and handling.

Haha actually they are usually pretty good with tools. Just don't ever forget that you have a razor knife on you...they tend to frown on those!

if i lose a socket in one of these Craftsman sets, i can just walk into any Sears and buy the individual socket for less than shipping/handling would be though...

Craftsman industrial seems to prefer sae. Most of their small sets are sae only.

the 82pc set does look nice it has more deep socket offerings than the 65pc, but it's also lacking extension bars.

i hate when they do this - i feel like they are trying to trick consumers. can't they just make it an apples to apples comparison

instead...the 65 pc has extras that the 82 pc does not and vice versa. you have to have the complete parts list (which is not available for the 82 pc on the website) for both to make the comparison. i am tempted to buy the 82 pc with a $3 magnetizer filler for my screw driver set so i can drop the SEARS2013 $5-off-$50 coupon

sweet thanks. so it looks like this has some smaller sized sockets and extra deep socket offerings in the 1/4" drive. but then also it's lacking in the extension bar offerings.

Great prices on affordable high quality US-Craftsman hand tools but other than the new "industrial" stamp they don't seem to be different than my older Craftsman sets. The small sets come with the nice case for travel/car. The ratchets that come with these kits are okay but watch for a deal on the better thin-profile Craftsman ratchets with 60 gear teeth for a 6 degree arc to make turns in tight areas. Keep all the other imported stuff in the miscellaneous drawer.
