I've bought two of these from Office Depot at different times during the past few months using a $30 off $150 online or phone coupon (mailed or emailed to me). Net was $233 each. IMHO this is a lukewarm deal.

I'd skip this since you could have quad core tablet for around $250 these days that are 10 inches both new and refurb.
I read online that asus or google is coming out with a new 7 inch tablet with a 1ghz processor{most likely a dual core} not sure about ram{hopefully 1gb ram?} thats going to be running jelly bean right out of the box for $99.
Im not talking about the memo pad for $149 supposedly unless that memo pad is going to be $99 then yes. If this comes out then im buying one for sure.

I think I am actually going to get a second gen Nexus 7. I was never sold on tabs. But if Nexus 7 2nd gen has the Qualcomm 600/800 series processor I will seriously consider buying one. This thing is still selling better than hotcakes....

I've been shadowing these nexus threads for a while...but part of me wants to hold out for the samsung galaxy note 3.

Anyone have any input? People that I've talked to who own a note 2 (in addition to a nexus) say that you don't need both.

Yes its been rumored, but of course its going to have a step down on all components in order to reduce costs, no doubt the margins will be slim.

Of course its not going to have a quad core processor like the nexus 7 - but it wont have the price tag of the Nexus 7 as well. At $99 to get a real dual core processor with 1gb of ram tablet thats runnig pure Jellybean out of the box unlike these crappy chinese tablets out there which would run for about the same price if they really used they same quality parts instead of those allwinner or whatever u call those crappy processors - I think its very possible that this would be true.

The samsung galaxy note 3 and the nexus 7 tablet are not the same thing - the note 3 is a smartphone/tablet hybrid - the nexus 7 is a tablet - not a phone - so ur looking 2 different things here.
If I was you - I would buy a decent smartphone for around $300{Can find a cheaper phone even at $250} plus minus that has an offical jellybean update without a contract and a 7 or a 10 inch tablet instead of buying the Galaxy Note 3 as u mentioned since its going to be a pretty pricey phone - with or especially without a contract. For the price of 1 Galaxy Note 3 without a contract - u can buy 2 or even 3 devices.

BS, have both. Many games look better on the N7. Try Zen Pinball HD. So much better on the N7 compared to the iPad w/Retina. Better, smoother game play as well on the N7. With a sharper image comes more processing power needed to render graphics. N7 gets it right, and with the IPS display, there is no issue at all with resolution - including news feeds. Battery life is much better in our N7 compared to our iPad (both purchased this past holiday). 7" is the way to go for a tablet. N7 is the best out there, and with automatic updates to the OS, no more rooting or waiting.

Amazing tablet. Make sure to get the Tegra Zone games for this.
