Going through these parts individually, yep, it'd be difficult to match this, outside of going the AMD route, cutting down the HDD size, etc.

A Microcenter ($50 off CPU+Mobo) would definitely help in the challenge.

Note, it depends on whether you'd even want to game with this thing. Going AMD, their integrated graphics kills the i3's. Going by CPU everyday tasks though is a different story. I myself would opt for the AMD A10-5800K.

I assume people would want to buy this for the latter. It's a great deal either way.

Quickly read this and thought a laptop with these specs looks really good for the price, primarily because it is so rare to see a desktop deal posted anymore. Oh well, RTFT. Obviously a sign of the times, but sad that desktop power/$ is much less than laptops, sigh.

I do look at slickdeals almost daily for stuff that I don't need NOW but would buy if its really slickdeal.. Because I got almost everything I needed... Ofcours I do look at slickdeals when Im looking for something I really need NOW..
So there is nothing wrong in someone coming and posting a statement that you can get it for a lower price. People are smart enough to buy or not buy based on their needs. No need to publish your 'official (un) slickdeals rule book..
