i got this exact bag at Marshalls for $40.00. Its a great bag and love it...don't hesitate buying it, at this price its still a good deal.

Screw everything about a "TSA" friendly bag. That agency is a sham.

Timbuk2 bags hold up well. I have 6 different styles and have been very pleased with their quality and durability.

Keep in mind, when these are on sale, they are likely older models. Compare the Newegg models to the Commute bags on Timbuk2's site. The newer model [timbuk2.com] has more organization features and pockets...but it also costs a lot more than $44.

One nice option Timbuk2 has introduced is a liner sleeve for camera equipment [timbuk2.com]. This can be purchased separately and used with older messenger bags.

I have a timbuk2 messenger bag that I have had for a decade, maybe a bit more. still going strong. for whatever that is worth.

I find it looks better & has more versatility than these current models though, based upon quick look at pictures on that link. Even though mine looks less cheap (IMO), I remember it costing less than this list price, it may have even cost less than this "sale" price .. yikes! Guess I got in before it "became all the rage." So I guess even though I'll vouch for timbuk2 bags, I can't get excited about this deal.

I picked up a Chrome backpack after buying a voucher that essentially gave me a 50% discount. I've never had a more comfortable laptop backpack. Saved my laptop too, got caught in an unexpected downpour.

I hear similar excellent things about the Timbuk2 brand. Thanks, OP, for the heads up!

I think for heavier loads, backpacks are definitely the way to go. However if you are only carrying a few files or a laptop, these are nice enough to work in more casual workplaces. Timbuk2 does make backpacks as well, though. They are my favorite brand of bags, but I only buy them on sale or heavy discount.

I have one of these in green and silver. I love it. Tons of compartments and space for items... fits a lot more than just a laptop.
