To be able to get WoW and ALL of the expansions for about $35... this is a hell of a deal. If you've never played World of Warcraft and enjoy MMOs (or RPGs/adventure games for that matter), this is a very wise investment... aside from the countless hours you'll waste in-game! :X
If only we could go back to vanilla WoW... when times were simple. I'll never forget my experiences during the first year or two it was released. It was by far the most fun I've had in any game to date. Leveling up in new areas, world PvP, 40 man raids, discovering new instances, learning the crafting system, playing with the skill tree... good times, good times. |

The key would create a new account that has the month gametime. I can't imagine being able to apply the key to an existing account to get gametime, as the key is for the client, not the time. |

From what I gathered online, the Battle Chest comes with a license code that applies 30 days upon activation, but you can't use it to apply game time to an existing account.
Ironically, my account expired last night after trying it again for a few months after not playing for over three years. Still fun! Just not a lot to do after you hit the level cap... or at least, I couldn't find a lot to do that interested me besides going after rare/vanity items. Finally got my Time Lost.

so my account was hacked a few years back. i tried to log in and I want to get it activated again. the freaking blizzard site is noob. they do not give any number to call, just the pos website. I dont want to restart a whole new character, however I dont have the two expansions as i was too lazy to buy them, Ill pick this up now but does anyone know of a number to call to get your account activated? Thanks in advance!

I don't think you need to buy this do you? I think just purchasing the latest expansion is all you need to start off playing.

As a WoW player and from what I can remember from reading this thread I can help answer you this:
1) This deal come and go often now, most times from the wow website. 2) By buying this part of the expansion you will get upgraded up to Wrath of Lich King which you can play until lvl 80. If you want to advance after that you will need Cataclysm for 80-85, and the latest Pandaria to lvl from 85-90. 3) It comes with one month game time which you cannot apply to another account. It will be activated when you enter your key, so it goes directly to this account. After that it's a 15 dollar month fee. 4) You can freeze your account at any time and will stop at the next monthly payment. If you decide to come back, everything will be the same way you left. They will save your account forever. In case you get hacked or anything like that, you can contact them, and they will restore your account as it was, they have saved log's and everything. 5) Trial accounts today can go up to lvl 20 and you can play as long as you want, but you will be very limit to, advance in lvl after 20, no general/trade chat and lots more. 6) if there is any trial days and you upgrade your account, the trial days will be added to your month subscription. for example: 10 day trail then you add 30 days game card = 40 days. 7) If you want to refer a friend or yourself, you can invite another account and you be able to lvl 3x faster up to lvl 80. Pls google wow refer a friend for this. Well for me this is a very fun game with lots to do. Most of the times when I read online about wow, it's people telling that it's a really old game. Well this is true, I believe since 2004-05, i started in 2006-07 but they are always adding stuff, raids, dung, professions, mounts, contents in general which makes the game never goes old. So for 5 bucks try it out for a month and see if it's worth for you or not. |

I fully expected to see a thread full of negative comments, quite surprised to see what is here!
A few things to note. With the most recent expansion they allowed players to create all races (and I believe classes), not just the limit the race to what expansion you have purchased. With the free trial you are limited to not being able to do some things, but you can get an idea if you will like the game or not if you have never played. Though, for $5 you might as well buy it and get the full experience with 30 days to decide. I've played WOW for too long and listen to a few WOW podcasts. A lot has changed over the 8 years it's been running and I think they are always trying to make it better. I enjoy the game where it is now, though I am not a fan of the dailies at max level for gear to raid, but that will change with the upcoming 5.2 patch. This can consume as much time as you will allow it, especially if you get into a good guild and/or play with friends. If you are thinking of trying this and don't know anyone that plays, you might ask for anyone here to show you the ropes, or dive in and ask if you have questions. There are sooo many aspects to the game that there is always something to do. And those asking about this deal, Blizzard runs this every now and then. Usually it is around the holidays, but htey just did it for a week in late Jan, so who knows when it will be again. If you're thinking about it, you can buy this now and then activate it when you are ready to play! Also, if new to the game NEVER give anyone your password, even if they claim you've violated rules and they are a GM or they send you an email. Basic security measure, but worth noting. Having said that, I might have to grab one of these for my oldest son for a RAF...
