Got One....
I kept refreshing my bank account and the inventory all day......got out of work.....hauled tush the 11.something miles and lo and behold....they had 3.....![]() Picked one up for the $527 and with the $75 off coupon, it was $484.18 with 7% tax.... I will go back(we have 30 days) to purchase the warranty.....it is a 2 year clearance warranty....not the normal price of the regular warranty....and it INCLUDES the accidental damage... sku for this laptop's plan should be 949293( 2 YR PC Clearance $500-$599.99 ) $65.00... which is a absolute no brainer..... ummmm $65.00 to have 3 years of coverage...incuding Accidental damage...and when my kids break it.....like they do everything......I'll get a cash card for the full value of the laptop I paid $527.50($452.50) for...... Yes please! PS check out the other deal I found.....its AWESOME!....(at work.....it'll take a bit, but worth it) |

Just picked this up. Didn't have one on display but they had one in back that had a damaged box. Which ended up being just a superficial tear on the box but they gave me 5% off anyhow and then I tossed the coupon at him. Asst Manager happened to be there while he was ringing me up and he asked the cashier where he found that because he was looking for one. Said it was last one in the back and he got a bit miffed and said he'd been looking for it to buy himself. Cashier said I got a good deal and the AM grumbled and said it was a hell of a deal.

Called 2 of my local staples in NYC at 2pm and both allegedly had inventory. Called staples 1 after work while on the way and they said they only had a damaged one left. I said id take it for the right price but theyd only take off 10% for a lappy with a dented keyboard and screen AND wouldnt allow me to use my coupon unless i got the $210 warranty as well. I told them to kiss off. Called Staples 2 and they said they had none in stock but i thought it wouldnt hurt to check. Showed up and they had 5 in back. (Employees clearly hoarding). I opted for a restored open box with no cosmetic damages to get an extra 10% off on addition to the $75 coupon. $434 out the door.
PS: Forgive my spelling errors as my SG3s auto-correct refuses to work in the forums. PPS: F*ck Staples 1 guy for trying to swindle me and do me a "favor" by taking $75 off if i bought their inflated warranty. Last edited by triphectah; 02-14-2013 at 08:05 PM.. |

I was going to buy two of these last night plus the Lenovo I3 desktop that was on sale and she was well aware that I was going to use the coupons on all three items but I told her she was going to have to ring them all up one at a time so the coupons would work on each and she said no problem as others have done the same. She took both laptops and the desktop up to the counter for me and while ringing up the first laptop she started with her pitch on their extended warranty and since I knew I was going to get the squaretrade warranty I politely declined and she started pushing it even more stating how great it was, I again declined to purchase it but I told her I would think about it and maybe buy it during the return period.
She then lied to me stating that I couldn't do that and it had to be purchased at the point of sale and on the original reciept. I then asked her if she thought this was the first time I had actually purchased something at Staples as I have been buying from them since before she was born. She then stated she was just trying to help me out, I said yeah, I know you're trying to help me spend extra money that I don't need to spend. I then told her that first off their warranty cost too damn much as the plan she was trying to sell me was more than half of the cost of the laptop so it would just make more sense to buy a second laptop instead of the warranty in which I intended to do. Secondly I told her that I was already planning on buying a squaretrade warranty that covered everything theirs did and more for only $65 instead of the $230 she wanted to charge me. I then asked to speak to the manager that had actually put the laptops on hold for me come to find out she had left just 10 minutes before hand and that she was the assistant manager. I asked if she was kidding because it didn't look like she was even out of high school yet. After all of this then she states that she cant honor the coupon on the other items because it says only one per customer which it does. I said well you also knew this before you brought all of these items up here and that you already said it was no problem as you have done it for others with the same coupon. She then lied and said she never said that. So now because I wouldn't buy their overpriced warranty she decided she wasn't going to honor the coupon on the other items. I told her I would discuss it with the real manager tomorrow and that she could take the other laptop and her extended warranty and shove them up her ass! I don't fault her for actually going by what the coupon stated other than the fact she said she had already done it for others and then turned around and lied about it. It also amazes me that they would give a kid a managers position. I can only guess staples is hard up for employees. On a positive note the laptop works great and no issues with the battery. This may have been a newer batch as the manager told me these were just delivered that day. Last edited by MrTator; 02-15-2013 at 07:23 AM.. Rep'em if You Got'em

I just brought the last laptop from my store. when i got home to unbox it, i noticed there is a distracting noise coming from the laptop. Whenever you single tap or double tap on the touchpad or anywhere near the plastic faceplate, there is a vibration sound, it sounded as if there is a spring under the faceplate or that the cover is loose.
hopefully its just the disc drive because its directly under the area. would hate to return it for this noise and if im the only one experiencing it. |

Question:
Have any one successfully installed a fresh Windows 7 64 bit, any version? Since the BIOS already has SLIC 2.1 in it, I used the OEM key to activate. Both the certificate and the OEM key are accepted, but I am still seeing 30 days to activate. Activate Windows now in the Control Panel, System. I tried both Ultimate and Premium to no avail. I successfully done that many times on various computers, some I even had to inject SLIC 2.1 into the BIOS. If any one has success, please share the experience. Alternatively, you can PM me with the OEM key you used. Thanks! |
