What if the battery only lasts a year? A few of my hp laptop batteries gave out in less then a year. Thank gawd the hp batteries are cheap.

thanks, I gave the laptop to my dad because he didn't mind it lol

I got this when it was 400 the last time around. This makes for a pretty awesome travel laptop or just business. The touchscreen is very responsive. After I replaced it with my Sandisk 240gb extreme SSD it becomes almost perfect. As pointed out by some user that the screen is TN but its perfectly fine for normal uses. I do have to adjust the angle a bit when watching some movies in bed but its more than adequate.

You can't beat this laptop at this price.

I'm seeing aftermarket replacement batteries for only $110. None higher capacity..... Yet.

FWIW, the notebookcheck.net review on this laptop was pretty abysmal based on its thermal characteristics. The processor and HD4000 integrated GPU performed very poorly due to throttling (i.e. worse than would be expected for the components involved)

If I remember correctly doesn't this notebook only have 1 antenna attachment? If so, have you noticed any reduction in signal strength or speed?

After checking it out physically at the Staples store, these are my comments:

Chassis feels solid, well built/metal-like feeling.
On the basic browser, simple apps (news, photo, weather, etc.) it ran fairly fast.

however I couldn't convince myself to pull the trigger due to these 2 issues:

1. I've been waiting for a decent performance hybrid tablet/notebook that will allow me to:
a. Take care of business tasks such as heavier Excel files, Powerpoint presentations, large emails through Outlook.
b. Basic adobe lightroom/photoshop, basic audio recording/processing, basic movie editing.
c. Play touchscreen app games, read news, watch youtube/movies, listen to music.

My gripe is that with a keyboard permanently attached to the screen, it seems hard to use it freely in tablet mode, to play some games or hold it in vertical angles. Also the added weight makes it hard to hold it for long, like a tablet.

2. For some reason with the glare-type screen and a "somewhat loose" screen hinges, everytime I touched the screen, it would wabble and shake, creating a very annoying glaring shake. it actually felt pretty dizzying. Maybe this is just me, because I havent seen anyone else mention this at all.

There's a Main and and AUX antenna attachment on the Intel card. I used the Main. No issues.

I bought one as a throwaway. I needed something NOW-NOW. If I like how it feels then I will hack it and make it better...
