If you're looking for at the 2 drill set + battery, the one I posted is a way better deal imo. The one at Home depot is the LXT211 whereas the one from CPO Makita is the LXT218 (a much superior kit). Also there is no tax for most and free shipping. Both places offer the free tool or battery.

It all depends what you want. The hammerdrill in the LXT218 kit is an inch longer and weighs about a pound more. Too much extra weight for what you're getting. I opted for the LXT211 kit.

Yes, you're right, the drill in the LXT218 kit weighs more. What you may not know is that the LXT218 kit from CPO comes with Makitas updated drill and impact (LXPH03Z & LXDT04Z). These are Makitas newest products. The drill is more compact than the BHP454 from the old kit. It also boast the highest torque (750 in. lbs) of any consumer drill available (according to Makita). It also has more dust/water resistance, duel led, full length rubber grip, all metal gears, tool and battery communication, ect. That's what you're "getting" along with the extra 1lb. weight.

I'm a cabinet maker/installer and I own both the lxt211 and the updated lxt218. They're not in the same league. If you're looking for a lightweight kit, there are better options for less money.

Point is moot. Deal is dead from CPO. Just thought I would throw this info out in the case of future deals.

If you read what you wrote previously (quoted below), you said these were Makita's newest products, which is not accurate for the impact driver. I agree with you that the 218 is a better kit but it does not contain Makita's newest impact driver. "Newer" (from above)-Yes. "Newest" from below)-No. No disrespect was intended, just accuracy.

If by brushless kit, you meant the 239 combo kit, it does not include the LXDT06. The 06 is not availabe in any combo kits yet. It's available as a bare tool or in a kit that's the tool, batteries,charger and case. The 06 is made in Japan. CPO doesn't have the 06 in stock yet.

Well, it's all semantics, but I get your point. However, this thread is about Makita's promotional deal. The brushless kit, with or without the LXDT06, is not part of of the promo. If you want to dissect my wording then you will find that what I said was, in fact, accurate. Both the brushless and non-brushless LX lineup of drill and impact drivers are Makita's newest offerings.

My assertion was simply that CPO Makita is selling the 218 kit containing the updated drill and impact. This may be important to some people because most retailers haven't upgraded their stock. I even called CPO beforehand to verify. Unfortunately the cs rep, although friendly, told me it would ship with the older BHP454Z & BTD141Z. I bought it anyway, and was pleasantly suprised that it shipped with the newer models instead. I was simply trying to help others.

I've been buying a few Makita tools lately and what I have been doing is finding the lowest price online which is usually Amazon and then asking Home Depot online (which is usually a higher price) to match + 10% off. It has been working so keep that in mind for now or later sales.
