Ugh. As an SDer it pains me to spend $70 on this (Tax + shipping). However I have been waiting so long it was the high limit I promised to myself on what I would spend on it looking at other Qi chargers on the market currently at MSRP.

They sold new for $50 at Verizon stores but I called a few stores and had them check inventory and they were all sold out.

Also Touchstone fans, Mathias Duarte used to work for Palm and he so "took" the ideas from the Palm days and brought them to Google. The multi-tasking we now have on Android is clearly reminiscent from WebOS and the Orb charger here looks so much like the TouchStone. There's no other wireless charger on the market that even closely resembles this design.

Anyway, got one. Glad he works for Google now. Things don't look so damn ugly like it did back in the Gingerbread days. Thank you Duarte.

At least they included another microUSB cable and charger. Unlike Asus with the Nexus 7 dock. Cheap bastards.

And the weight is probably just a heavy piece of metal to weigh it down (like the touchstone did).

Customers can buy these for around $40, but $60 seems right for a direct purchase from the Google Play store. I'm sure they'll still sell thousands of these.
