unless you plan on consuming mostly amazon digital content, the nook HD+ and nexus 7 are better at this price range

I don't know how this is a deal, really: for only $10 more you can get it directly from Amazon. Is it really worth saving $10 to get this from "johny641'?

Yeah, saving ten bucks isn't worth having to deal with johny641 if something goes wrong. He does have good reviews, but with Amazon, they'll replace the Kindle Fire HD instantly if something goes wrong with the shipment or something else happens. I like dealing with Amazon for the peace of mind, even if I have to pay a few more bucks.
Personally, I don't see any advantage of getting this over the Nexus 7, especially with all the THD games that are coming out that only work with Tegra chips. The Kindle Edition apps are pretty lame. Regardless, the new generation of tablets are coming out in the next couple of months, so you'll see prices on these older gen tablets dropping. |
